Abstract: 
By the end of the 1990s, Matsushita Electric Industrial Company was hit by rapid changes in the domestic as well as the global electronics market. In 2003, it had a loss of 19.5 billion yen. However, by 2004, the company had an operating profit of 195.5 billion yen.
